Introducing Marilyn Patrick …

Bayview Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of incoming Assistant Administrator,Captain Marilyn Patrick.
Ms. Patrick is a Registered nurse midwife who has served in the Barbados Defence Force for 25 years, receiving her military training at the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst and the Canadian Staff College, Kingston, Canada.
During her military career, she held responsibilities for the Medical and Dental services which included the island’s lone hyperbaric chamber and catering services. She also served in the post of Staff Officer Administration, as well as Officer Commanding of the Headquarters Company which coordinated and provided logistical support for the Barbados Defence Force. She also served as the Force’s HIV/AIDS Coordinator.
In 2010, Captain Patrick returned to the Nursing profession to work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Recovery Room for 6 years. The same year, Marilyn was also appointed Managing Director of Gentle Car Mobile Nursing Service, specialising in after-hospital care and elderly home care. Since this time, she has also provided part-time consultancy services for the National HIV/AIDS Commission where she oversaw civil society organisations programming, evaluation and operations of various projects.
Captain Patrick has also been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Barbados Central since 2009, and served as President from 2012 to 2013. During her tenor as President, Captain Patrick oversaw the construction of a home for a family in St. Lucy who had lost their home to fire, and focused on the the management and administration of youth-based programs.
Captain Marilyn Patrick holds a BA (Hons) and an MSc from the University of West Indies Cave Hill Campus, and is currently studying Health Ergonomics with the University of Derby.
