"The food was amazing. Who has ever heard of anyone saying anything about hospital food? The hot food arrived hot-warm, the cold food (salads, etc.) arrived cold. I took home 2 large cups of soup with dumplings, large chunks of chicken, vegetables and quite thick—2 meals for a person on a walker and using a wheelchair was a real blessing; AND, NO, I HAVEN’T FORGOTTEN THE NURSES. Each one was so different, but they were so kind, gentle, patient, supportive, discreet . . . I could go on. I learned from each one how to handle my injured body. Although I felt many of the indignities of being a hospitalized elderly person, the nurses never treated me as an embarrassment or an annoyance. They showed a sense of humor with compassion. I couldn’t have asked for better people. , I feel blessed by this experience."
