“I had surgery at the facility on February 22, 2019 and from the early morning when I checked in until when I left, I cannot express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude about the service provided from security to the receptionist to the nurses in the OT to the after care nurses to the office staff. “On Friday February 28th I had a very successful right hip replacement surgery at Bayview Hospital and I must say the entire staff at Bayview were very professional and accommodating. For quite a few years especially when I was growing up, it was a notion that Bayview was the hospital mainly for the delivery for babies and was a place that only Persons of a certain class would be admitted. Quite the contrary. I felt at home there. I was given my medication and meals on time and ever so often the nurses would always come and check up on me to make sure I was comfortable. I’d like to thank everyone at Bayview Hospital for their kind hospitality and I recommend the facility to everyone. Special mention must go to Hospital Administrator Mrs Jules Raven-Reid, my surgeon Dr Tamara Nancoo, my anesthesiologist Dr Martin O’Neal, my Physio Therapist Miss Mia Roberts and all the nurses and orderlies who took great care of me while I was at Bayview. “After doing my rounds (doctor pun 😆) around Barbados I decided on @bayviewhospitalbarbados. I don’t usually do reviews but believe me, with your hormones raging during the birth process coupled with the anxiety that comes with hoping your child is healthy, you want kind, understanding staff and resources to support you fully and that’s exactly what I received. My whole birth experience seems to have gone in a flash but the things I won’t ever forget are the smiling faces at the front desk, staff that made me feel like no question or request was too big or insignificant. My team Dr. Tracy Archer, Dr. Farnum, Nurse Gittens and my Husband/Coach @scottscatering who kept me calm on one of the most emotionally challenging days of my life. The hospital administrator Jules who made me feel like I was part of this incredible extended family. All the nurses/midwives that helped with Ethan (from bathing to feeding) and my recovery process. It was also amazing to head into the beautiful family room post birth. Scott had his own bed and could snore next to me as I thought about the future of our little family. Are more children in our future? I have no idea. But the nurses keep saying they’ll see me next year 😆 if that’s the case, I’ll definitely be returning to this hospital.”
“The food was amazing. Who has ever heard of anyone saying anything about hospital food? The hot food arrived hot-warm, the cold food (salads, etc.) arrived cold. I took home 2 large cups of soup with dumplings, large chunks of chicken, vegetables and quite thick—2 meals for a person on a walker and using a wheelchair was a real blessing; AND, NO, I HAVEN’T FORGOTTEN THE NURSES. Each one was so different, but they were so kind, gentle, patient, supportive, discreet . . . I could go on. I learned from each one how to handle my injured body. Although I felt many of the indignities of being a hospitalized elderly person, the nurses never treated me as an embarrassment or an annoyance. They showed a sense of humor with compassion. I couldn’t have asked for better people. , I feel blessed by this experience.”
“We stayed in the Family Suite which honestly felt like a hotel room! …. The food was great, and the room very clean, welcoming, comfortable, and family friendly.Our first-time experience, however, was made unforgettable because of the amazing staff that readily attended us day or night. The kindness, motherly care, understanding, and advice of ALL the midwives present was exactly what any first time mom (and dad) would want. 8 months later and we cannot stop singing Bayview’s praises!
